Choose the Parts
When choosing the parts of a rifle, there are 4 basic units that you need to take care of. These are discussed below.

1. Bolt Carrier Group or BCG
The Bolt Carrier Group or BCG is one of the most important parts of your rifle. It is responsible for firing when you pull the trigger. We suggest that you don’t experiment with this part. But you should use a lightweight BCG. This will increase the speed of the firing movement.

2. Rifle Receivers
Receivers are other essential parts of a rifle. If you don’t know what receivers are, they are the body of the rifle in which the firing process takes place. These are the two parts of the receiver.

1) Lower Receiver
The lower receiver is the part of the frame where you hold and pull the trigger from. If you are looking for a lightweight lower receiver then you can go for the polymer lower receiver. But if you are looking for the cheapest option, you should move to the aluminium cast options.

2) Upper Receiver
After the lower receiver, you need to decide on the upper receiver. Most shooters prefer a lightweight receiver with the Direct Impingement System. But some also prefer the piston ones. If you are looking for a cheaper option then you should go for the first option, the Direct Impingement System.

Make sure that the upper receiver that you choose comes with a handguard otherwise, you have to get it separately.

3. Barrel
The next thing to build your own hunting rifle is to select a Barrel. It is the tube where the bullet passes. The length of the barrel matters a lot. We suggest that you choose a barrel with a length between 10.5″ to 15″. Other than the length, the thickness also matters. You can go for the standard size on the thickness.

4. Gas System Length or GSL
The last vital component of a hunting rifle is the Gas System Length. The size of the GSL should be in the mid-range. Because a rifle with a short GSL will cause you problems. On the other hand, rifles with long GSL are also not useful. So always choose rifles with a mid-range GSL.

Conclusion
As a newbie hunter, it is a tough task to choose a rifle. There are many options but you don’t like any of them. So what should you do? Build your own hunting rifle? Why not! To help you in the process, We have shared the vital components of a rifle that you need to take care of. We have discussed them in detail above.
