Click on ” File” in the menu bar then click on “Info.” A new window should open, select the account that is giving you the error and click on “Remove.”
Click on the account that you want to use, then click on “Add Account” and follow the steps to set it up. Don’t forget to select the option for using SSL encryption if your version of Outlook requires it.
Solution 2: Check Your Connection
Another way to fix this problem is by making sure that your internet connection is working. You can do this by simply closing Outlook for now and trying to send the email again, or restarting your computer. If that doesn’t work then you’re going to have to contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) because there may be a problem with your internet service.

Keep going down the list until you see a section that says “Outlook SMTP server.” In this section, make sure that the server smtp.outlook.com is correct, if not then change it to smtp.live.com. (If you are using Office 365 make sure to put the server smtp.office365.com .) Also, under this section, you can see if there is another option for Outgoing Server (SMTP). If yes, make sure that it says 587, otherwise, change it to 587 and click “Ok” then try sending your email again.
